Marina Anderson knew from a young age that she wanted to race. At 8 years old she began riding dirt bikes and go karts. From there, her love of fast cars only grew by spending most weekends at the racetrack and watching her dad work on a nostalgia nitro dragster. In her early teens, she was also working on the dragster and traveling with the crew to events around the Midwest. At seventeen she obtained her first NHRA license, running 8.22s at 162 MPH in a Super Comp dragster. She wanted to race a nitro dragster, so she had to build it. While completing her degree from Elmhurst College, she fabricated the dragster from the ground up with the help of family and friends who had been racing for years. They worked late nights and weekends to complete the fabrication of the car. Marina is the owner and driver of the Anderson Family Dragster A/Fuel team. This is a dream come true for her, but she also enjoys learning the tuning side as well. The Anderson Family Dragster team plans to compete regionally in the Top Alcohol Dragster class of NHRA and the Pro-Alcohol Dragster class of ADRL.
