NHRA Nitro Funny Car

I joined the Champion family in 2011. My favorite part about racing is JUST BEING ABLE TO DRIVE A NITRO FUNNY CAR- THERE’S NOTHING THAT CAN COMPARE TO THAT. My ultimate racing goal is TO WIN A FUNNY CAR CHAMPIONSHIP.Being on #TEAMCHAMPION is A GREAT HONOR FOR ANY RACE TEAM.

Biography

Alexis DeJoria, driver of the Tequila Patrón Toyota Camry Funny Car, began her drag racing career in 2005, first competing in Super Gas and then Super Comp. Within eight months of her NHRA debut, she won the coveted Sportsman Nationals in Fontana, California. DeJoria moved up to the Top Alcohol Funny Car class in 2007. While competing in that class, she made her way to four national event final rounds, won a divisional event, broke two female world records, and claimed her first ever NHRA national event win in Seattle in 2011. DeJoria made her highly-anticipated leap from TAFC to Nitro Funny Car at the end of the 2011 season. During her 2012 rookie year, DeJoria raced her way to a final-round appearance in Bristol, Tennessee, and achieved a career best run of 4.032 seconds at 319.07 mph in Reading, Pennsylvania.
