Biography

North Carolina is home to 20-year-old racer Spencer Boyd, who started racing when he was just six years old. The teen began his career in Karting, where he won 12 World Karting Association (WKA) championships during his tenure in Karts. At 14 years of age, Boyd moved to the larger and faster Legends Cars. A fast learner, he was able to collect victories and championships, including the Rockingham Speedway (NC) titles in 2011 and again in 2012 along with his 23 wins in 43 starts (average finish 1.7), NC state championship, Touring Series championship, and second in the INEX National Points standings. In 2014, Boyd raced Super Trucks at Hickory Motor Speedway, dominating in the division by entering victory lane multiple times throughout the season, earning the 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Super Trucks Championship at the track. In 2015, Spencer ran seven NASCAR Whelen Late Model races and won four with the worst place finish of sixth. Spencer ran select races in 2016 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on a mission to be approved to race at all tracks.  On April 2, 2016 Spencer made the biggest step of his young career by making his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Martinsville Speedway.  He teamed up with fellow St. Louis native, MB Motorsports, and made waves by driving his No. 63 Go Parts Ram all the way up to 5th place at one point in the race. For 2017, Spencer is driving the No. 12 Chevrolet Silverado for Rick Ware Racing in the Truck Series with the sponsor, Grunt Style.  He continues to raise awareness for military Veterans, Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT's and all service men and women while chasing his dream of someday racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
