Del Worsham joined the Champion family in 2009 with the ultimate goal of winning the NHRA Mello Yello Funny Car World Championship. A few years later, with a 2011 Top Fuel NHRA World Championship under his belt, Worsham went on to clinch the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Funny Car World Championship in Pomona.

It was a weekend to remember with fierce competition and record-breaking runs, but Worsham’s 3.92 second run was enough to come out on top earning the first Funny Car championship for Kalitta Motorsports. What does this mean for Worsham? He’s now the third driver ever to win a championship in both Top Fuel and Funny Car.

Looking ahead to 2016, Worsham has his sights set on winning back-to-back titles. The NHRA is celebrating 50 years of Funny Car racing this year and Worsham is prepared to race his 10,000-horsepower DHL Toyota Camry to victory.
