What if you don't change your fuel filter in time?

Even the most critical-sized particles are stopped by the top-quality filter paper Champion®uses in its filters. Specialists recommend Champion®filters as we aim to match the original design of car manufacturers.

Take no risks, change your filter in time.

A filter which is not replaced in time, can get clogged. If the differential pressure on the filter gets too high, the filter media (paper, or fabric) can bend or break, and unfiltered particles may enter the engine or cabin.

Every clogged filter has direct or indirect consequences for the person driving, the car and the environment.

Every car is different beyond the distinction between petrol & diesel, and every car has its own requirements specified by the car manufacturer. In case of doubt: ask your Champion®specialist about it. He can advise you and install the right filter for your car in the appropriate way. And in time.

Why you should avoid a clogged petrol or diesel filter

  • Power Loss: If the amount of delivered fuel to the engine is lower than the requested fuel by the engine, the mixture will be lean and there will be power loss.
The chance exist for a too lean mixture and misfire can occur and the engine will troobleshoot, and could damage the catalyst converter.
  • Bad Starting Properties: When the fuel filter is clogged the time to get the ideal pressure in the fuel line will take longer and the engine will have starting problems or will not start at all.
  • Damage to other components: Modern common rail injection systems are made with a high accuracy. Dirt can damage parts that are expensive to replace, caused by a fuel filter not replaced in time or one that is installed with a low efficiency.
