Biography

Monty Mandros is 30 years old, and originally from Green River, Wyoming. He currently lives in, and races out of Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up with a passion for cars and for racing that has never left him. Monty has always dreamed of one day driving his own race car and making his way to the top. He used to help one of his old bosses with his modified car at the local dirt track in Wyoming. Monty looked up to his boss as one of the best race car drivers out there, and while he had a lot of fun being to to help out and learn from him, it make him want his own car more than ever.

Throughout his early and mid-20s, Monty struggled with alcohol. He finally told himself that something had to change, and he chose to go to rehab. He completed the program and has been sober since October 23, 2011. Monty considers this the best decision of his life.

Monty worked hard to turn his life around and was rewarded by his dream of racing finding him through his good friend and DJ Osborne, who asked him to be his spotter for the 2013 season. Monty agreed and had a ton of fun, but the desire to be behind the wheel hit him harder than ever. He ended up buying his own car for the 2014 season. It was a tough one, full of more lows than highs, and he didn’t get to race a whole lot due to his budget, but when he did have the chance to race he was able to prove that his skill level is there. Monty’s desire and passion will always be there, and he’s looking forward to an awesome 2015 season with Team Champion!
