Darrell “Bubba” Wallace, Jr. joins Team Champion, piloting the No. 6 Ford Mustang in his first full NASCAR XFINITY Series season. Wallace’s racing career began in 2004 when he began competing in Jr. Sportsman Champ Karts. He finished his first season second overall in points at the Carolina Asphalt Racing Winter Series.

Wallace made his NASCAR debut at the age of 18 at the Iowa Speedway starting eighth and finishing ninth. In 2014, the now 21-year-old competed in the full NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season, earning an impressive four victories, two poles, nine top-five and 14 top-10 finishes landing him a third place finish in the final season standings.

Wallace led 96 of 200 laps on the way to his first major NASCAR win, becoming the first African American to win a NASCAR race on the national level in nearly 50 years.

Wallace also ran two NASCAR XFINITY Series races in 2014 with a best start of third (Talladega) and best finish of seventh (Daytona). In 2013, Wallace turned heads with a victory at one of the circuit’s toughest tracks; Martinsville Speedway.
