A perfect wipe? You must be using brand new Champion wipers. One or two minor streaks in the margins of the windscreen this is acceptable.
Wind lift
![Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_WindLift Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_WindLift](/content/loc-emea/loc-sa/fmmp-champion/en_GB/technical/light-vehicles/wipers/trouble-tracers/_jcr_content/main-par/trouble_tracer/symptom2/article-par/image.img.jpg/Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_WindLift-1573553942035.jpg)
If the wiper “misses” parts of the windscreen at high speed, replace the wiper blades and check the wiper arm for damage or wear - replace if necessary.
Unwashed areas
![Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_UnwashedAreas Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_UnwashedAreas](/content/loc-emea/loc-sa/fmmp-champion/en_GB/technical/light-vehicles/wipers/trouble-tracers/_jcr_content/main-par/trouble_tracer/symptom3/article-par/image.img.jpg/Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_UnwashedAreas-1573553942157.jpg)
Deterioration of wiper blade linkage or decreased wiper pressure can leave parts of the windscreen unwashed.
Permanent small streaks
![Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_PermanentSmallStreaks Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_PermanentSmallStreaks](/content/loc-emea/loc-sa/fmmp-champion/en_GB/technical/light-vehicles/wipers/trouble-tracers/_jcr_content/main-par/trouble_tracer/symptom4/article-par/image.img.jpg/Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_PermanentSmallStreaks-1573553942278.jpg)
Multiple and recurring streaks in the central part of the windshield are indicators the wiper is due for replacement. We recommend you change your wipers at the next opportunity.
Lace curtains
![Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_LaceCurtains Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_LaceCurtains](/content/loc-emea/loc-sa/fmmp-champion/en_GB/technical/light-vehicles/wipers/trouble-tracers/_jcr_content/main-par/trouble_tracer/symptom5/article-par/image.img.jpg/Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_LaceCurtains-1573553942400.jpg)
Lack of use can result in deformation of the wiper blade lip causing a veil effect across the windscreen - particularly dangerous at night. Change your wipers as soon as possible.
Chatter hopping
![Fluid-Being-Poured-Into-Engine-Thumbnail Fluid-Being-Poured-Into-Engine-Thumbnail](/content/loc-emea/loc-sa/fmmp-champion/en_GB/technical/light-vehicles/wipers/trouble-tracers/_jcr_content/main-par/trouble_tracer/symptom6/article-par/image.img.jpg/Fluid-Being-Poured-Into-Engine-Thumbnail-1573553942550.jpg)
Deformed wiper rubber, worn linkage or wiper arm can cause juddering across the screen leaving behind radial streaks. Change your wiper blades and replace other parts as necessary.
Noisy
![Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_Noisy Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_Noisy](/content/loc-emea/loc-sa/fmmp-champion/en_GB/technical/light-vehicles/wipers/trouble-tracers/_jcr_content/main-par/trouble_tracer/symptom7/article-par/image.img.jpg/Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_Noisy-1573553942743.jpg)
Noisy wipers may be a sign that the wiper element is deformed or hardened or that the wiper blade structure is worn. Time to replace them.
Lines or bands
![Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_LinesBands Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_LinesBands](/content/loc-emea/loc-sa/fmmp-champion/en_GB/technical/light-vehicles/wipers/trouble-tracers/_jcr_content/main-par/trouble_tracer/symptom8/article-par/image.img.jpg/Support_LV_Ignition_TroubleTracer_Wipers_LinesBands-1573553942933.jpg)
Wiper rubber wears out or becomes damaged with age resulting in thick bands of uncleared water left on the windscreen. Change your wipers straight away.
